Happy Birthday to me! I am 74 today (oh gosh, did I say that out loud?!) Despite severe arthritis pain which limits my mobility, I am doing well. Except for my grandmother, who was in her 80's when she died, I have lived to be older than any family member. Anyway, Happy Birthday to me. It will be quiet as we are still staying away from everyone. My hubby is going to make me one of my favorite dishes --Posole, a mexican dish we discovered while living in New Mexico, which is usually made during the holidays. I currently live in Ohio. I would love to know where you all are. If you have time, just leave me a comment with your city, state or country. A longer note would be great, but just your general location would be great too. I live in the beautiful state of Washington with my husband of 20 years and our 18 yr old son who is heading to college in a week and a half!
I'm so nervous about that, scared, worried, etc., because I'm his Mom, of course, but also because he does have a learning disability that really impacts him.
His biggest struggle is communication----in any form!
So.......ugh.
It's what he wants to do, and he has a dream of playing college football, and if he can make it, I'm happy for him.
I just am so afraid his dreams won't be realized and I'll end up with a broken and depressed son.
God help me, he's truly God's child, not mine, so I need to trust that whatever happens, more than anything, I want my son to know Jesus and follow him.
Everything else is gravy.

Happy Birthday! I'm from your northern neighbor, Michigan where I live with my husband of 46 yrs. I have 4 grands & 4 step grands. The newest grandchild is 6 weeks old and 3 are teenagers. Wishing that 2021 sees more return to normal in the world. Thanks for sharing your creative talents.
