Happy 2008!

Just a few more hours and 2007 will be over. Finished. Kaput. Was it a good one? You bet. Not that it was without trials or tribulations, hurts or pain. But God is good. He provides so much and give us the strength to handle times when He takes away. I have two layouts tonight. The first is a Christmas one, of our great-granddaughter at the family celebration on Christmas Eve. I used Six White Bloomers Christmas Kit by JulieCohen, available at Stone Accents Studio right now for 50 percent off.

This next one is my favorite quotation. I am not sure where it came from. It was handwritten on a piece of paper I found among some old photos a long time ago. I used Stellarific Creations kit Snowflake Blues, also available at Stone Accents Studio.

And now, I bid you goodnight. Have a happy and healthy New Year, and may God continue to bless you in the new year.

Christmas is Over

The decorations are still up, and we still have some Christmas cookies left, but the excitement is all over. We will have to wait another year (except for Christmas in July, of course) to do it again. I got more Christmas pix today from both my daughter and son, but haven't done any Christmas Day layouts yet. But, I did do a couple of LOs from CanDesigns fabulous kits.

Happy Holidays!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was fabulous. Christmas really is all about the kids, and the star of this Christmas was our great granddaughter, who is almost 3-1/2. She was much more understanding this year that every gift was not for her, but she still wanted to help open them all. Her enthusiasm and excitement over every gift she got (or gave) was contagious, as she squealed and giggled and clapped at the joy of it all. Oh to be a child again! I have tons of pictures and hope to get more as our daughter sends me hers, but in the meantime, I did this one with the Sunshiny Days kit by DarleneH from Stone Accents Studio. I will have some Christmas LOs soon.

The Home Stretch

Well, less than a week to go. Are you ready? We send very few Christmas cards, opting instead to send a donation to the local homeless shelter, but I did get those cards done and in the mail. Tomorrow is our Church group Christmas party at a local restaurant, and afterwards everyone is coming to our house for dessert. I have been baking, and except for picking up some caffeine-free coffee, we are ready. I did have time for another layout with the fabulous December Megakit from Stone Accents Studio. This kit has so many beautiful papers and elements! Get it while it is on sale at 34 percent off!

Blizzard!

They predicted a big snow storm for this weekend, but, well, yeah, it's always going to snow somewhere but we always seem to get a few pretty flakes that stick and then melt and it's over. But not this time! It started Saturday morning and snowed all day. By bedtime, it had stopped and we had about 6 inches. Then it rained a little and then started snowing again. By the time we got up, it was still coming down hard. You could see where the road had been plowed at some point, but the snow was deep in the street and it was hard to see where the driveways were. We got up and went to church anyway, and there were a few brave souls there. It was easy to get a table at our favorite restaurant for brunch with the only other couple in our group who made it to church. They said it would continue to snow all day, but we called the neighbor kids to come over with their snowblower so we could get the worst of it off. By the time they got here at 2, it had stopped, and now the sun is shining. I took some pictures so maybe if I can get the few Christmas cards I send finished, I will scrap them later today. In the meantime, here is one I did with the gorgeous new, soon-to-be-released December Megakit from Stone Accents Studio.

Hurry, Hurry

That seems to be the motto for this time of year. Hurry, Hurry. I hate to shop, and I hate the crowds. Bah Humbug. But I do love Christmas. The real Christmas. The spirit of Christmas. The whole holiday season, to tell the truth.
Anyway, we never did get the big snowstorm that was forcast for Sunday. We got a lot of rain and the snow has almost all melted away. It is cold and damp and foggy today though. I did get a few more LOs done.
This first is of our GGD in front of her grandma's flower garden. I used Booland Designs kit Anemone, available at Stone Accents Studio.

This one is of our grandson and his girlfriend at Thanksgiving. They are such a cute couple. I used Tuscan Sunset by JulieO, from Stone Accents Studio.

And last, but not least, my beautiful niece and her husband. I used Sunshiny Day by DarleneH for this one.

Be Careful What You Wish For

Yep, my wish came true. BUT, hey, didn't I say no snow on Wednesday because we had to drive to the City? We got over 2 inches of snow and then more again last night. They are predicting more for tomorrow but say the Big Storm will arrive on Sunday. Oh boy.

I have two pieces of news. First, I won the November Life History Challenge at Stone Accents Studio for my Truly Thankful layout (see Nov 18 post). Then I was so surprised to find out that my Sisters equal Love layout was selected as the Layout of the Day on December 5th at Nuts4Digi. Check it out here.

In the meantime, I have a few more for you. This one was done with Vintage Christmas by DarleneH, available at Stone Accents Studio.

This next one was created with JulieO's new kit, Tuscan Sunset. The elements and papers are so elegant.

And last, but not least, two layouts of our first snow of the season scrapped with JulieO's newest kit, Feelin Frosty. LOVE this kit.

And if you are looking for some great freebies, check out the Designer Contest at Stone Accents Studio. The theme for Round 2 is Christmas. There are 17 fabulous kits. Download the ones your like, and vote here for your favorite. Voting is open until Sunday at 7pm EST.

One More...

Another LO, this time using Vintage Christmas by Darlene Haughan, available at Stone Accents Studio.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Ok, I'm ready. Well, maybe not tomorrow because we have to drive some friends to the City about 75 miles away, but anytime after that is good for me. LOL. My SIL, well actually both my SILs, who live in Florida, delight in telling me they spent the day at the pool, and had to turn on the airconditioning because it was so hot. If we have to be cold, I WANT SNOW! The weather has been so weird that one day it is warm and then it is freezing. We shut off the water system to the yard back in October, but my husband has had to mow the grass several times since then because it just won't quit growing. LOL. Anyway, a new layout with Booland Designs kit, Anemone, from Stone Accents Studio. The photo is of my niece, Dawn. Isn't she beautiful!

It's Beginning to Look...

a lot like Christmas, all around the house. We got all our inside decorations done, and part of the outside ones... because, frankly, Baby, it's cold outside! I still need to do my Christmas cards, and a Christmas letter for those far away, and I will be done. YEAH! Oh, well, maybe a few odds and ends. And, I want to make some pumpkin bread and some other Christmas goodies. But, in the meantime, I did have time to scrap one LO with the beautiful Paper Blitz megakit by Booland Designs, available at Stone Accents Studio.

Three more LOs and Another Freebie

I am on a roll. The LOs just seem to be coming to me, although I have to admit the one of my siblings and I gave me quite a bit of trouble. I had 4 different designs and two different kits before it finally fell together. That happens sometimes. Okay, maybe more than sometimes... LOL. Anyway, I had some beautiful kits to work with from Booland Designs. The first one, WinterMoon, has so many beautiful pieces. Our grandsons were the perfect subjects. You can get it at Stone Accents Studio.

The next kit, Paperblitz, is also from Booland Designs and was perfect for this LO. It is also available at Stone Accents Studio.

Now on to the Freebie. Sweetmade was so kind as to give me permission to make another QP from her Moody kit, available on her blog.

You can download it here. The password is moodyqp. If you take it, please leave a comment.

Great Response

Well, I had a great response to the first freebie on my blog, although not a lot of people left comments. That is to be expected though, or so I am told. My sister did a super job on the QP and we are glad so many people liked it. In the meantime, I have a couple of LOs from Stone Accents Studio's new designer, Darlene Haughin. Her Today kit, along with 4 templates from designer Julie Cohen (A $10 value), is Free with Purchase for a limited time only. Check it out!

Two LOs and a FREEBIE

Here are a couple of layouts I made with the beautiful November Megakit from Stone Accents Studio. There are so many pieces to the kit and the elements and papers are just gorgeous.

And here is a freebie for you. This QP was created by my sweet sister, Elaine, with the Moody kit from Sweetmade. Check out her blog!

Happy Thanksgiving

And it definitely was. All the grandsons were there this year (one is always off hunting, or with his girlfriend's family) and they brought their significant others, so we had a full house and it was WONDERFUL. There was soooo much food. We ate until we couldn't eat anymore, then everyone pitched in and we got the dishes done and then played games all afternoon. Some played Rummikub (love that game!) some played "It's Anybody's Guess" and some played "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader". Luckily, I had a 5th grader on my team! But it was a fantastic day. Today I just finished up a few odds and ends, vacuumed the floor, and played on the computer and watched TV all day. It was relaxing. I will have some LOs for you tomorrow and maybe even a SURPRISE, so check back.

Sad News

Friday our SILs father passed away and today we found out that a dear friend had a heart attack and is awaiting open heart surgery. It makes us realize again how precious life is and how we have to live each day to its fullest. Life is too short. So we hit a bump in the road once in a while, that doesn't mean we can't still enjoy the ride.
Here is a LO I did for a challenge at Stone Accents Studio. I used the beautiful Elegant Autumn kit by CanDesigns.

Is Thanksgiving just a week away?

Oh my gosh, can that possibly be? Where did the time go? We are hosting TG again this year, and we are looking forward to a house full of our kids and grandchildren, so I had better get busy! In the meantime, here are a couple of LOs created with CanDesigns gorgeous new kit, Crystal Palace, available at Stone Accents Studio for 50 percent off!!

Layouts of the Wedding

I have been busy working on an album of my niece's wedding. Here are just a few pages that I did with the beautiful and versatile October Megakit from Stone Accents Studio, on sale now for 40% off. The colors of the kit were perfect for the fall color theme my niece used in her wedding.

I'm Back

I had some trouble with Blogger and couldn't get my LOs posted so I gave up. Then real life got in the way and have been busy trying to get a Wedding Album done and some things done at home that I have been putting off. Also got a flu shot and got to feeling a little punk for a few days. Got lots to do this week, but will try to get some of my LOs put up. I have some new kits that are gorgeous and can't wait to share the LOs. Back soon.

Tiny Dancer

OMG, is she adorable or what! This is our great-granddaughter in Pre-Dance (I guess the class before the classes, huh?) She is 3. Kit used was So Pretty by Pillowgirl, available at Stone Accents Studio.

Gorgeous Bride

Isn't she a gorgeous bride? There was an Autumn theme to the wedding and surrounded by the beautiful fall foliage at the Lake, it was beautiful. I used the October Megakit from the Stone Accents Studio team, now on sale at 40 percent off!

Wednesday, October 24, 2007

The Wedding is over...

...and what a beautiful wedding it was. Nobody does weddings like New Yorkers! My niece had a fall color scheme and it was gorgeous. The wedding took place outdoors at the Lake Club under a Gazebo. The reception was at the club on the Lake. Beautiful view with the changing foliage reflecting in the lake and the weather was perfect! Pictures to come! In the meantime two new LOs.

This one was done with Pillowgirl's new So Pretty kit available at Stone Accents Studio.

This LO was created with Pillowgirl's mix and match Color Foundation series, also available at Stone Accents Studio. I used the lace papers, ribbon flowers, buttons and ribbons.

Another Vintage Rose

Had some more time before I went to bed last night, so scrapped another LO with JulieO's Vintage Rose kit.

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

We are traveling, on our way to visit with family and attend my niece's wedding, but I had to show you this LO made with JulieO's new kit, Vintage Rose MegaKit, on sale now at Stone Accents Studio. It is just beautiful, with so many gorgeous papers and elements.

Another Heritage Layout

It is so much fun to look through all the old photos. I love this one of my dad as a young boy. His socks are a hoot! And, can you imagine a wooden slide? Kit used was A Treasured Past by Skrapper Digitals.

Friday, October 5, 2007

Just Too Cute

I just had to scrap these photos. I knew exactly how I would do it when I took the pictures. Our granddaughter was teaching her grandpa how to eat his spaghetti the *right way*. When you put it in your mouth and some hangs out, you just have to pucker your lips -- "No, grandpa, not like that - like this!" -- and suck it in. She is normally not a big eater, but she had three portions of spaghetti because she needed more to show grandpa. LOL. Too cute. Papers and element is from Wild Things by Sandra Adamson. Monkeys by Lori.

Blogging is hard

Blogging is hard. For me, anyway. What to say. Who cares. I am sitting here, falling asleep, even though it is only 4:45 in the afternoon. I am tired. I have not been sleeping well, going to bed too late, and getting up too early. Every time I think, "tomorrow I will sleep late", something comes up. And, my allergies are acting up - big time! I thought I had an eye infection yesterday, when my right eye got all red and puffed up. But then my other eye started to bother me and puffed up. And, they were itchy! I took some allergy medication (which I should be taking every day, according to the doctor) and the itching went away, but my eyes are still puffy. Lack of sleep isn't helping much. Anyway, here is another LO. I used Pillowgirl's Heirloom Lace Papers and Heirlooms from Mother.

Friday, September 28, 2007

One more for today

Another LO done with the beautiful heritage kit, A Treasured Past, by Skrapper Digitals. This is my grandmother Mary, my mother's mother, who died when I was only 5. I don't remember much about her, and this is only one of the very few photos we have of her.

Digging through Old Photos

Have been going through all the photos I scanned in. What memories they bring to mind. The two heritage kits I acquired recently are perfect for the old photos. Here is one that I scrapped using the beautiful kit, A Treasured Past by Skrapper Digitals. Don't have much time today as our son and granddaughter are coming in from St. Louis and should be here any minute, and I want to go bake some Pumpkin Bread.

Mirror, Mirror

I have been busy with real life, and have not had much time to scrap. But I finally quit tonight and stopped to scrap this LO of my Aunt Betty. She was the youngest of my father's family and a beautiful woman inside and out. I used the beautiful papers and elements from Pillowgirl's sets Heirloom Lace Papers and Heirlooms from Mother. I have come to the conclusion that previews, no matter how cute and well made, never do digital scrapkits justice. I recently acquired two heirloom kits and the quality of the charms and papers and elements is just outstanding. So real, you can just reach out and touch them. I have another LO to post as well, but it will have to wait until the new season starts of Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy are over. Gotta go. Back later or in the morning.

Finally Finished

I am finally finished with the filing cabinet. Boy, that was a job. But it is organized now, cleaned out, and easier to find stuff. Not that I will like filing any better...LOL. Next, I will have to tackle the office closet.
I did have time this morning to scrap using CanDesigns beautiful Adornment kit. I like the way it came out.

Friday, September 21, 2007

I'm in one of those moods..

...to clean. So I tackled the big file cabinet in the office. So much junk was just stuffed in there when we moved in, and it was time to clean it out. My hubby says the shredder is overheating, but I am almost done. I just need to go through all the warranties and computer stuff... and make some file folder labels (I am a neat freak) and I will be done. Then I can get back to scrapping without feeling guilty. Here is another LO I did with Lisa West's Adelaide kit.
