Happy Birthday to me -- and a mini kit for you. December 21st

Today is my birthday!  I made it!  Other than my grandmother, who lived until her 80's, I have lived longer than any other family member -- Parents, aunts, uncles, siblings etc.  Although I have terrible arthritis in my back and neck, and have limited mobility as a result, I am doing fairly well.  My mind is good and I enjoy life.  I thank God daily for the gifts He has given me, including a loving husband and wonderful children and grandchildren (and, ok, great-grandchildren too! but I'm really not THAT old.)  So, to celebrate, I made you all a kit of sorts.  It is quite large, so if you have trouble with any of the downloads, please don't hesitate to let me know. Gifts for December 20th

I can't believe Christmas is less than a week away.  Although I ordered my photo Christmas cards at the beginning of December, they have still not arrived.  Numerous phone calls and hours (no exaggeration!) on hold and all I get is "they are in process".  Bummer.  But that is how my whole year has been.  Next year has got to be better!!  I think this goes without saying, but you may be hesitant -- if you find something wrong with any of my creations, please, please let me know.  I work hard to make them but I am only human and make mistakes.  Sometimes I catch them before I post, but if I miss something, you'd be doing me a favor to let me know.  Anyway, here are several more gifts.  ENJOY!

Gift for December 14th

I thought I would share a layout I made of my hubby as Santa.  He has been doing it for years but mostly at Christmas parties for adults.  Several years ago our Pastor asked if he would be Santa Claus at the Christmas party for the children at the child care center and he has been doing it every year since then.  He has a beard year-round, but lets it grow longer for the event.  Immediately after the party, he heads to the barber to have it trimmed back to normal.

Christmas Gift - December 12th

Hello everyone.  I hope you are enjoying the gifts I have sent you so far.  I have more to come so be sure to mark this page or sign up for notifications on the right.  I very much enjoy creating.  I have a lot of trouble with my back and have trouble getting around, so sitting in front of my computer is my therapy.  I do volunteer work on the computer for my church and my neighborhood and it keeps me sane.  Though I have lots of photos (isn't Facebook great for keeping up with the family!), I really have to be "in the mood" to scrap.  If my back gets to hurting too much, I sit in front of the TV and crochet.  I make hats and blankets and sweaters and the like for charity.  It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.  I sincerely thank all those who leave sweet comments.  It is much appreciated.  Here is your Christmas gift for today.  ENJOY!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.  I hope you have a wonderful turkey day shared with family and friends.  I have so much to be thankful for.  Is my life perfect?  Not hardly.  I have terrible back pain but my mind is still good.  I can hardly get around, but I can sit comfortably in front of my computer.  Our children are all safe and healthy.  (We had a scare with our daughter and a large mass she had to have removed, but there was no cancer.  God answered our prayers.)  I have a wonderful husband who is always there for me, and friends who care.  So much to be thankful for!!  I have been furiously working on all the goodies that I will have for you starting December 1st.  Be sure to bookmark my blog, or sign up on the right to get alerts whenever I post.  I can 't guarantee what time of day I will be posting as it depends on what we have going on, but I will try to get the freebie up early each day.  In the meantime, here is another quickpage to keep you scrapping.  ENJOY!

Ain't Technology Great!

I think technology is wonderful -- the personal computer, iPads, cell phones, "Alexa" -- but sometimes I want to scream.  A couple of months ago, my Outlook quit syncing my gmail accounts.  I tried to access my email on the phone and couldn't remember my password, so Gmail locked out "unsafe" software (including Outlook) from receiving any email without notifying me.  Grrrrr.  It took me three days to figure that one out and get it to work.  Now, don't get me wrong.  I am not a novice.  I've been working/playing with computers since 1977.  I am a programmer, I am a designer, I create websites and granted, I am getting old, but Geez Louise.  Two weeks ago I tried to use my printer and it spit out nothing but blank pages.  It didn't matter what I tried to print; even test pages.  I ordered new ink.  It arrived but still nothing.  I finally googled it and decided to try a hint from HP -- cleaning the printhead.  I removed it, soaked it in hot water for 10 minutes, let it air dry and reinserted it and the new cartridges.  Still nothing.  I removed the cartridges again and reseated the printhead and reinstalled the cartridges again, and it worked!!  Sometimes I could scream.   Anyway, here is my therapy.  ENJOY!

Sunday Gift

Stupid computer.  Not sure why, but all of a sudden my Outlook does not want to "synchronize" my email.  I can go online (gmail) and get it, but Outlook just won't work.  I've researched the error code and seems like I am not the only one, but everything I've tried so far has not worked.   Grrrr.  So, here is my therapy.  Hope you like it.

Is it Fall yet?

Saturday freebie

Today I am backing up all my recent photos -- before I lose them.  I usually make two DVDs just to be sure.  And I have them on an EHD as well.  I have spent the last several weeks reorganizing my external hard drives (I won't tell you how many I have!) and cleaning out the tons of duplicates.  I am paranoid about losing files.  Anyway, burning the DVDs on hubby's computer since mine doesn't have a DVD drive, and had some time so thought I would whip this up for you.  As always, I really appreciate your comments.  ENJOY!

New look

I had to change my blog as Photobucket was putting a watermark on my background image.  I'm not sure if I like this or if I will leave it until I can figure out how to get my original background back up.  I have been meaning to change the look of the blog for a while but have so many other things to do that I never got around to it,   Let me know what you think -- stay or go?

A pair of pretties ...

Boy, it is HOT!   Thank goodness for air conditioning.  The hot weather is much easier to bear when you are sitting at the computer looking out at it.  Hah.  .Recently had an external hard drive fail -- 2 tb of data disappeared in the blink of an eye.   When googling the problem, I found that oftentimes it is not the actual drive that fails but for some reason the computer cannot find the data.  Thankfully I found some software that scanned the drive and found all my data so I could transfer it to a good drive.  Just for kicks, I am going to reformat the drive but even if that works, I don't think I would trust it again anyway.  Had a little time so thought I would whip up a couple of quickpages for you.  Hope you like them.  Thank you to all those who always take the time to comment.  It is much appreciated.  ENJOY!
