I'm so sorry. I usually post these the night before so that all time zones and areas can get them on time, but yesterday I got sick around 3:30 in the afternoon. Hubby and I were watching the mini series Kane and Abel (really old) since we had both just finished reading the book. All of a sudden it hit me and I had to go to bed. I stayed in bed until 7:30 or so and got up to have some chicken soup and take my evening pills. I then went back to bed and slept until 9 am this morning. I am feeling better this morning. So, anyway, here is your gift. ENJOY!

Merry Christmas Eve. Hope you are all sitting around the fire (or the pool if you are in warmer weather) and enjoying a little egg nog. Do you open your gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? When I was growing up, my parents didn't wrap the gifts until after we were asleep (or pretending to be) on Christmas Eve and we could not open our gifts on Christmas morning until after we got home from church. Our daughter's family does Christmas Eve for all the gifts from Mommy and Daddy and others, and Christmas morning is when they discover the gifts from Santa Claus. I am a little late posting today. Though I always post the night before (for example, I am posting this on Monday evening, Dec 21st, and it is actually tomorrow's gift), it was a busy birthday. Though we didn't go anywhere, everyone and everybody called. Since I have not talked with many of my callers for a while, they were looong conversations. This evening I got three phone calls while I was talking with my daughter who lives in New Mexico. And, now, it is actually past my bedtime. Last night was a rough one. I have a hip (left) which is bothering me - a lot! Years ago when they x-rayed my back, they told me that the left hip was bone on bone, but it really did not bother me until a month or so ago. I am not a back sleeper, so I sleep on my side and alternate throughout the night from left to right, but last night even when I was laying on my right side, my hip was throbbing! Ah well, the joys of old age. Thanks to all of you who took the time to comment. Anyway, here is your gift for today (Tuesday!). ENJOY!
Happy Birthday to me! I am 74 today (oh gosh, did I say that out loud?!) Despite severe arthritis pain which limits my mobility, I am doing well. Except for my grandmother, who was in her 80's when she died, I have lived to be older than any family member. Anyway, Happy Birthday to me. It will be quiet as we are still staying away from everyone. My hubby is going to make me one of my favorite dishes --Posole, a mexican dish we discovered while living in New Mexico, which is usually made during the holidays. I currently live in Ohio. I would love to know where you all are. If you have time, just leave me a comment with your city, state or country. A longer note would be great, but just your general location would be great too. Feeling better today, thanks for your comments and concern. I was busy today (again) and my sister called and talked for an hour and a half so I didn't get everything done I had planned to. I was not feeling well again today after dinner. Not sure if I am coming down with something or what. I wasted a lot of time today searching for a specific silver photoshop style that I had years ago, but no luck. I normally try to get these loaded the night before to compensate for different areas, but if it happens that I don't, please rest assured I will get it up sometime during the day. We have a very kind neighbor who has been bringing us our mail every day since June (it's a long walk down the driveway) since my husband fractured his back. He does not want him to fall. He has also been taking out our garbage. Despite his wife's failing health and then death, he still brought it every day, rain. snow or shine. Yesterday he called to tell us he tested positive for COVID-19. He said he feels fine and asked us to put a basket by the front door so he could still bring up the mail without any contact with us. There are still some unbelievably kind people in this world.
