Ok, where is the snow? We got a couple of sprinkles on a couple of days, but I really can't count that as the first snow of the season. I don't particularly like the cold, but I love the snow. Big giant flakes softly tumbling to the ground, turning everything white and pristine. Then it will feel like Christmas. I got the last of my shopping done today and have to finish wrapping, but I am ready! Let it Snow!!I'm thrilled to see that I have passed over 100,000 hits on my blog since I started keeping track. I've had over 9,000 of those since December 1st. Wow. Looks like you are all enjoying the gifts. Spring Love Freebie

Yes, I know, it has been a while. We've been on vacation and then we've been sick. But we are feeling better and hopefully will be able to get out of the house after two weeks! I was really hopeful this past weekend that Spring had finally arrived. It was in the 80's and just gorgeous outside. But, then it rained. Today, when I got up at 5:30 am it was 45 degrees outside. Now it is 41. Brrrr. And I had already taken the extra blankets off the bed! Ah well. The warmer weather inspired a little mini for you, so the little bit of Spring fever was good for something.

The papers are 12x12 and the elements are all much larger than shown. All were created at 300 dpi. You can download the mini here: PART 1 and PART 2

Snowflake Overlay and Frame Freebie

Well, so much for a Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas. Shortly after returning home from church on Christmas Day, I was rushed to the hospital. I am now finally home and recuperating after surgery, but never did get to post these last freebies for the Snowflake series. I was playing around with a tutorial for making a seamless pattern which resulted in this snowflake overlay. The sample paper is included in the download. I also made one last snowflake pattern frame. Hope you can use one or both of them, and hope your holidays were better than mine. Happy New Year.

It started snowing a week ago, on December 1st, and it has snowed a little (and sometimes more than a little) every day since then. Today, the sun is shining but it is very cold ... brrrr. We got our first snow yesterday. It started about 8am with soft, floating flakes and before long it was coming down hard. Then it stopped for a while, just spitting out a flake or two here and there, but by last night it was almost blizzard conditions. We went to Advent services at church and the roads were slippery and treacherous. It certainly looks like winter!!

For those of you who asked about a November desktop ... sorry. Have been on vacation and so busy with other stuff, I didn't get around to it. Home from Vacation ... and a freebie for you!

We had a wonderful vacation!! We first went to our granddaughter and grandson's graduations -- YEAH Celeste and Kevin! then on to New Mexico to visit with family and friends. We saw so many old friends, it was wonderful. We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary while there, and ate enough Mexico food to hold us until next time! But, all good things must come to an end, and I have to say, it is good to be home. Now, we are preparing for our annual family barbeque on the 4th of July.

I've been using the internet forever, but it still amazes me at how it has changed our lives. The other day a dear dear friend found me on Facebook! We lost touch years ago and I have been searching for her but her phone number is unlisted and I just didn't know where she had moved to. And she said she has been searching for me too. Now we have communicated and now that we live closer to each other, we will visit. Amazing.

So, are you all ready for Christmas? We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with all the kids and grandkids, and they helped us put up the Christmas decorations the following day. It is always so special when you have little ones to help with the tree. Hubby got all the outside decorations put up since then and we are all set. In the meantime, I have been working on a Christmas kit, but don't know if I will have time to finish it. We will see. I haven't been doing too much scrapping, but I am working on the pictures from Thanksgiving. I do have a couple of layouts I did with Sweet Made's newest kit, Frozen Fantasy.

I can't believe summer is over. Yeah, I know, Fall doesn't officially start for a few more weeks, but, hey, it was COLD this morning. We need to get the blankets out and turn on the heat! We have been so busy lately that I really have not had time to blog. We have had visits from friends traveling in their RVs. We were so excited to see them. ...to me! Charlie and I have been married for 32 years. It is so hard to believe. It seems like just yesterday that we met ... and fell in love ... and got married. It has been like heaven. He is my best friend and my soulmate.

Yes, Spring has definitely arrived. All the guys are mowing their lawns, the skies are blue (no more rain!) and the temps are up in the 80's. I was so tired of the cold weather. We actually turned on the air conditioner yesterday. I have been so busy the past couple of weeks, I don't know where the time has gone. As I mentioned, I am now on Kristi Westling's CT. Another Rainy Day

It is cold and windy and rainy today. Really dreary out. But, now that I am retired, these kinds of days do not bother me. Back when I was working, it meant carrying an umbrella, feeling wet and damp, and having a bad hair day ... LOL. Now, it doesn't matter. It is a good day for doing laundry, putting on a good Enya CD or two or three, and playing on the computer. The rain is good for the grass, the flowers, the trees ... and we are certainly looking forward to a colorful Spring. I am working on a new kit and maybe a QP or two, so check back. Ok, I need all the help I can get. Thanks so much to TragedyScrapinAnne for pointing out that my alpha was a wee bit small for a 12x12 layout. It certainly looked big enough in Photoshop. I made the alpha 70 points (which is almost an inch high), but she is right, when you put it on a 12x12 page, it looks rather small. Sooooo, I redid it at 300 points, which is more than large enough for any size layout. The updated alpha is not exactly the same as the old one, though. When I work on an alpha, I experiment with style, and foolish me, I did not save the PSD file -- another valuable lesson learned. But, I think I got it pretty close. I think the new one is a little glossier. Here is a close-up.

I am. I can't help it. I don't like being sick. We had a great vacation and now that I am home, I want to get back into the groove of things. Go see the grandkids, play some Rummikub with our friends, go to church, go out to dinner -- get out of the house! I have spent so much time in bed, my back is killing me. My ribs hurt from coughing so much. Whine, whine, whine. I am sick of it. Sigh.

I'm Baaaaaack

We are back from vacation -- and I am sick, again! Florida was cold! Our last stop was St. Augustine and we took a tram tour of the city. It was freezing! After just a few stops, we said "the heck with this" and got off. We were both just so cold. The next day it was nicer and we went back and toured the fort and the shops, but I guess the first day is when I caught this horrible cold. We arrived home late Friday and I started coughing shortly thereafter. By Saturday night I had a constant, horrible cough that just won't go away. Ugh! I went to bed early last night but was up at 2am because I couldn't stop coughing and poor hubby was not getting any sleep. Anyway, I am back. I need to work on my laptop which has major problems from some malware I picked up somewhere, but I will be back with some layouts soon.

It seems like it has been snowing on and off for a week, but the night before last we got over a foot of snow. Today a neighbor boy came over and cleared out our driveway with his snow blower, so we can get out if we need too. He even brought the mail to the front door! Brrrrr. Ok, I admit, I love the snow. In fact, it is snowing right now. BUT, brrrrr, I am ready for some warm weather. It is 10 degrees out and too cold for me. I have the little heater on under my desk, because even though we have the heat set at 71, I am cold. My desk is next to a big window overlooking the front, and, it is cold. It has been a busy week, and I have not posted my LOs in a while. Winkflash was having one of their photobook special and I was trying to get as many LOs done as I could so I could have them printed up. The deadline was Friday night and I finished uploading 87 layouts at 11:45 pm. I had 15 minutes to get the order processed before the coupon expired. Then I couldn't find the email with the coupon code! Aaaargh. Good thing my sister is always up late (in fact, she was uploading her layouts for a photobook too). That's what I get for waiting until the last minute. Won't do that again. Anyway, here are some of the LOs:

OMG, it is 14 degrees BELOW ZERO. The windchill factor is 34 below. This is not Minnesota here, or Alaska. It is C-C-C-Cold outside. Global warming?? I don't know about that. Happy New Year to everyone! I have been sick for two weeks now and just starting to feel a little better. I missed the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations with the kids and grandkids and our two sweet little great-granddaughters but hubby went and everyone had a great time. I am waiting for everyone to send me their pictures so I can start scrapping away. We had a wonderful surprise when we found out that son, Chuck, bought Fotofusion and has started scrapping. We've had a little snow but now it is starting to get really cold. Ugh. I don't like the cold weather, especially if it is windy too. Phhhew, it's over.

Phew, it's over. But, what a wonderful time we had. The house was full of kids, grandkids and our two great-granddaughters, and there was lots of food and fun and games, and of course photos! We loved every minute. The cleanup is all done, everything is back in its place, everyone has gone home, and now we can sit back with our feet up and reflect on another wonderful Thanksgiving. Despite all the food we sent home with everyone, our refrigerators are full of leftovers and I won't have to cook for a week (ha!) Hubby is taking a nap after getting up early to see our son and family off, and I am catching up on my posting and readying my surprise for Monday (you did remember there will be a surprise, right?) To all my family and friends, far and near, I wish you the most blessed and Happy Thanksgiving. May you take time to reflect on those things in life that are most precious to you, and have a wonderful day filled with friends and family. We are having the family here for Thanksgiving Day and we are really looking forward to it. Our son from Missouri should arrive shortly with his family. We will put them to work setting up tables. Most of the casseroles are finished and in the refrigerator. I still need to set the tables, dig out some serving dishes etc., but will have time to relax some this evening before the hulabaloo tomorrow. It is hard to believe the holidays are upon us. Where did this year go?

Ok, so I am easily excited by things...LOL. First, Veronica Spriggs (Vivarant) invited me to be on the Creative Team for Digiscrapboutique, and then she asked me to be CT Manager. Wow. Have you seen the talent at this place?! First of all the designers are all top notch with some of the most beautiful kits I have seen anywhere, and the Creative Team ... what can I say? These girls do some awesome layouts. Go check out the kits in the store, and then check out the Gallery to get some inspiration. Wow. I am thrilled to be part of this group. Thanks so much Veronica! On another front, I have some more exciting news, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. Maybe I will have some time to post some of my recent layouts. I have been super busy with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday as we are again hosting the whole family, and I am trying to figure out how I am going to fit everything in my freezer until then. I can't believe it will already be next week. I am so not ready. Our son and his family are coming in from St. Louis, so we will have them here for the long weekend and I am hoping they will again help us put up all the Christmas decorations while they are here. The grandkids had such a great time setting up the tree for us last time, and it was a great photo op! And our son can climb the ladder easier than hubby to put up the decorations outside -- if only the weather cooperates! We've already had our first snow yesterday and today it has been snowing on and off. Well, better go and get some real life chores out of the way.

I have some exciting news to tell you... but not yet. In the meantime, it has been a busy, busy week. Our granddaughter had an Election Day party so we could all sit around and watch the returns as the polls closed. Yesterday we drove with friends to a small town near here for German Night. It was delicious. Yum. Tomorrow we are going to a Veteran's Day Concert. And in between, run, run, run. I have a few more layouts to post and then I will be caught up. Happy Halloween to you all. If you are looking for the freebie QP, scroll down to the previous post. Halloween was celebrated in our town yesterday. Our neighborhood has a pre-treat party for the kids with hot dogs, soups, side dishes etc. before the kids go door to door. We had quite a few children come by but we still have candy left over. Good thing it is the kind we like...LOL. The most darling trick-or-treaters were a set of twins dressed as lions. When their mom said "What do you say?", they roared at me instead of saying "Trick or Treat". One then climbed up into the house to get closer so I wouldn't have to stoop down to fill her basket, while the other twin dropped her basket so she could use both hands to help herself to the candy bowl I was carrying...LOL. Laundry Day

Today is laundry day, and that's good because I definitely did not feel like getting out and about today. I didn't sleep well last night. I have these sleep issues sometimes. For some reason I just can't sleep. It usually happens around 3am when I wake up and can't go back to sleep but last night was a double whammo. I didn't fall asleep until 2:15 am and woke around 5. I started keeping track of these episodes to see if there was some kind of pattern, but so far I don't see any. Oh well. I got some extra computer time out of it ... LOL. Today we focus on the fabulous designers at GoDigitalScrapbooking.

We are home from vacation (again!) I am so far behind in my posting it is not even funny. We had a great time in NY with family, but it is always good to get home. I love being with my sister, who is not only my sis, but my friend and scrapping buddy. We had such a great time together. My brother looks great considering all he has been through this year. The weather was gorgeous while we were there, and when we first arrived home, but now it is starting to get colder and you can definitely tell that Autumn has arrived. I have so many LOs to post, I will do them a few at a time.

Wow, it's been a busy, busy week. Visits with friends, high school reunion, Church picnic, visiting family ... not one day free. Can you believe that the summer is almost over? The grandkids start back to school tomorrow - unbelievable! The weather has been just gorgeous, warm and sunny. Since we turned the water off while we were gone, the grass turned brown and hubby is furiously watering to get it to turn green again. It has been so long since I've posted, but we have been on vacation. We went to visit the kids and all our old friends, and we just got home. We have been gone about a month. It was wonderful, and we had a great time. BUT, it is always great to be home -- in our own bed, in the same old groove, comfortable and happy :-) I've got a bunch of LOs to show you, but I am really so far behind. I thought I would get some scrapping done while we were traveling from here to there and back, but we were having too much fun. So I will post what I have, and then more later as I get them done.

The weather is gorgeous. It is hot, but not too hot, sunny and beautiful. Aaaah, life is good. Our holiday barbeque was a great success and there was tons of food. We have been dieting, but we cheated a little and had lots of things we should not have. My daughters and granddaughter make fabulous desserts. Oh, and pasta salad, and homemade baked beans, and ramen salad... so much food. We have been busy as we are planning a trip, but I did have time to whip out a few more layouts.

Fireworks!

Wow, nature sure has been providing us with plenty of fireworks lately in the form of lightning. We have had so many storms. Is the weather getting weird in this country, or what?! Floods, tornadoes, high winds (even if they are 99 mph winds, as we had a couple of weeks ago, it is not a tornado unless it touches the ground)... and then the fires. How horrible. Our prayers are with those families affected by these tragedies. I can't imagine losing everything like that. Anyway, here are a few more of my latest LOs.
